Our 4-day vacation to Kasol turned out to be the perfect blend of nature, comfort, and slow travel. Nestled in the lap of the Parvati Valley, this little village offered everything we needed for a peaceful mountain escape together.
Arrival at Kasol and Riverside Bliss
We arrived at Kasol by noon and checked in at North Deodar Camps. The property sits beautifully by the riverside, surrounded by pine trees and the calming hum of the Parvati River. After a warm welcome and some rest, we spent our evening walking along the riverside trails and later enjoyed a cozy barbecue dinner under the starlit sky. The bonfire just by the river made it even more magical.
Exploring Tosh and Pulga villages
The next morning, we set off for Tosh. The drive from Kasol to Barsheni was scenic, with mountains and apple orchards keeping us company most of the way. After parking our car at the Tosh parking area—meant for small cars and bikes—we realized the entire village is motor-free. You can only explore Tosh on foot.
We enjoyed a relaxed brunch at Pinki Didi Café, followed by coffee offering stunning views of snow-capped mountains. There were a few other charming cafés tucked between tiny lanes, perfect for travelers looking for peaceful corners. We initially planned to hike up to Kutla, but locals told us it takes around 4–5 hours of an uphill climb, so we decided to explore Pulga instead, the charming village lying opposite to Tosh across the valley.
By late evening, we were back at North Deodar Camps. The staff had set up a barbecue and bonfire again near the riverside, and we spent a relaxing evening sharing stories and soaking in the cool mountain air.
Leisure Trails and Local Exploration
This day was more about slowing down. We explored the Chalal–Katagla trail, which starts within walking distance from our property. The trail runs along the Parvati River, surrounded by tall deodars and river sounds that constantly soothe your senses. We noticed several late-night parties taking place around these areas, but personally, we preferred the quieter vibe near Soma Ropa.
I’d highly recommend staying around Soma Ropa if you’re visiting Kasol—it offers better road connectivity, spacious parking, and beautiful riverside properties. Chalal and Katagla, though charming, are accessible only by foot and offer basic stays with limited services. Even simple conveniences like luggage assistance can be tricky there.
Staying at North Deodar Camps turned out to be a great choice for us—it combined comfort, accessibility, and authentic mountain hospitality.
Until Next Time, Parvati Valley
Even after three wonderful days, it felt like we’d only scratched the surface of Parvati Valley. Spots like Malana, Grahan Village, and the Kheerganga Trek are still on our list. We’ve promised ourselves to come back next summer to cover those trails.
Kasol, with its mix of peaceful stays, scenic drives, and warm hospitality, truly made for an unforgettable couple’s getaway.
